Dressy Casual

When I woke up this morning all I could think was, "Ugh, today's challenge is going to be the worst!" I literally had no idea how I was going to do the dressy/casual look. I tried on a few dresses/skirts with tshirts and thought it just made me frumpy. I was browsing through pictures to get inspiration and saw a denim jacket. Light bulb (said like Gru from Despicable Me...). The end result is this. I love it!
This skirt is actually a bridesmaid dress. Doesn't get much more fancy than that. I haven't worn it since Melissa's wedding; I just couldn't figure out how to dress it down enough to be wearable at something other than a wedding. I dug it out of the very bottom of a bin in my closet, folded it into a skirt, put on a white tee and my denim jacket and viola! Dressy casual. There you have it folks, miracles do happen.

Melissa:
So today was cold so I couldn't wear the outfit I had planned but I was able to still come up with something I liked. I wear this sweater this way a lot but because I find it a little more dressy and it was expensive I get worried about my son wrecking it. I decided I need to stop waiting for an occasion to wear my favourite things and just wear them! And if they get worn out or wrecked well at least I enjoyed them and then I have an excuse to go shopping again, right?
So here's my outfit. I am kind of a comfy dressy type of person so I love this sweater. I feel it covers it all. I wear it a lot to church with a black skirt too. And as for my grey boots, they have to be my most worn pair of shoes. I wear them more than anything else in the winter. I just absolutely love them!
