Freckles in April Style Challenge
Freckles in April is starting up a bi-weekly style challenge. She is the one that created the 21 Day Challenge that my sister and I did a few months ago. I had a lot of fun doing it and it really got me thinking more about my clothing. So I'm planning on participating in her style challenges.

Her challenge this week:

I have quite a few things I want to try from my fashion board but I chose to try out this look
I love this look. It has the 3 C's of a summer outfit: cute, casual, and comfortable.  I can wear an outfit like this to clean my kitchen, take the kids to the grocery store, or go on a date with the hubs.

I know it will shock you all to hear this, but I do not currently own a chambray shirt. It's been on my "to buy" list for a while now, I just haven't gotten around to doing it. But I do own a button up shirt and a maxi dress and the outfit I came up with is (in my opinion) just as awesome.

Dress: Gift // Shirt: Gift // Necklace: Stella & Dot (shop) // Shoes: Thrifted

    1. Thanks! Just found it while browsing gap.com and wishing I could buy something. But coming up with a new outfit was almost as good. :) Thanks for the link up!

  2. So cute! I esp. love the necklace, and how summery this looks w/ the white.

  3. I love it, and I don't own a chambray shirt either, don't feel bad. Your teal dress is great and the geometric print one is really sharp looking.

  4. Very cute outfit! I love layering shirts over a maxi dress, they are so versatile (and comfortable). I am not a mom, but I am a special education major, SO comfort is definitely key. I strongly encourage you to invest in a chambray shirt at some point (even though this outfit is perfect without one). I swear by mine. In my blog I even refer to it as my "grown up security blanket".
    Much love from Louisiana,
