Mix it Up

I have been looking forward to and at the same time dreading this challenge all week. I really like mixed patterns when it's done right, but I feel like it can go so wrong so easily. 

I originally wanted to find something to pair with my grey leopard pants but chickened out. I couldn't find anything I liked. So I decided to play it safe with just a patterned scarf. I pretty much pulled out every patterned thing in my closet and managed to make few outfits that I liked, but this was my favorite. I'll definitely be pattern mixing again with the other outfits that didn't make the cut today.

 I've tried wearing this cardigan a few times this year and just haven't liked the way it looked on me. I wasn't too optimistic when I pulled it out of my closet to try and make it work. But this scarf adds the edginess to the floral print that I needed.

I saw this picture earlier this week and LOVED it. I originally wanted to do something like this, pairing florals with stripes. But, unfortunately, today was a cooler day today. Maybe I'll get to do an outfit like this later in the challenge.

Sunday Crossbow

Looks like Melissa went with a scarf for today's challenge too. Can't go wrong with a good scarf.

Today was pattern day and I have to say I think this was harder than tuck in day! It probably took me a half hour to get dressed. I kept trying something, hating it and than just standing infront of my closet and staring. But as I said yesterday I was pleasantly surprised with what I came up with. This challenge might be good for me after all because I am realizing outfits I never knew I had. For instance this yellow gingham shirt I am wearing today is a long shirt I usually wear with tights in the summer and I only ever wear it the one way. If the weather needs a light jacket I won't wear it because I don't know what kind of jacket to wear with a long top and I usually belt it because I think I look like a pillow case if I don't. Anyways I am pleased to have found a new fun way to wear this shirt. I was also surprised I found another tuck in outfit.
