A little Pop

I knew going in to this challenge I wanted to do white. I love the all white look, but with kids it's not really practical. But I decided to push practicality out the window and do white with a pop today. I really like how it turned out!

The white pants and coral top were pretty much a given for this challenge, but I went back and forth between my blazer and cardigan to layer the outfit with. I totally love both outfits, but decided that the leopard cardigan wins by very small margins. I just like that it's laid back enough to not be totally impractical for a mom. Lucky for you, I took pictures with both. And I may be guilty of only doing the front of my hair just to take these photos.... we're having a lazy day here at the Newell home today.

Pants: Banana Republic (altered by me) // Shirt: Ann Taylor // Pumps: Kohls (similar) // Belt: Gift (similar) // Cuff: Stella & Dot (shop) // Blazer: Ricki's (similar) // Cardigan: Gap

In answer to your question, no we did not plan our coordinating outfits. But the dark side/light side is fitting for May the 4th (you know, may the fourth be with you...).

Melissa:
It's crazy to say but as this challenge continues it is becoming harder. Today I think I tried on about a dozen or more different things and even sent Mindy a bunch of pictures asking her if it was good and if it went with the the directions for today. If was a real hot day today so I wanted to wear something summery but it just didn't work for me today so I ended up in all black! These are really black pants but I rolled them up to be long capris. And then I thought this black blazer was light and not hot and if it did get hotter I could just take it off. But the best thing I was pleased about was figured out another outfit to wear this shirt with. Yellow is my favourite colour and I bought this shirt probably about 6 years ago but I don't wear it a ton because it doesn't always seem to go. But I love it here! After all my frustration I feel like it was a success. This challenge is pushing me out of my comfort zone in a good way!
