In June I signed my Mum and I up to run a half marathon at the end of October. I've been running since I got the OK 6 weeks after Summer was born, and ever since June I've started training consistently for the race. All this time I have been patiently waiting and working for "the zone". That beautiful place in space and time when you feel like you could just keep running. Your body doesn't hurt and you are just having fun running. I was beginning to think it was a myth, a legend. Something I would never achieve.
Last week, after almost a year of running, I finally found it! The ZONE! Not only did I do my fastest run ever, but also my longest. And I was just loving it, enjoying the time outside. I have to admit that I was so excited when I realized I had made it into the zone that I got teary eyed and could not wipe a silly smile off of my face. I'm sure passersby were looking at me like I was on crack, but I don't care. It was awesome. I'm attempting another long run tonight and I'm anxiously hoping I find the zone again.
Which brings me to this, my current craving:

I have developed a weird little crush on Benedict Cumberbatch. When Brian found out, he asked me why? Telling me he wasn't even very good looking. Then I started asking myself the same question. Last week we watched the new Star Trek with him in it and I kept watching him and asking myself, why? I don't think he is extremely good looking, and he does make some weird faces while he's acting (to his credit, he is acting and shouldn't be worrying about how he looks) but... his voice! He has a great voice. Now don't get me wrong, I do find him attractive, but his voice is what gets me. And the fact that he is Sherlock helps too, but I've already admitted my fascination with Sherlock Homes here.
Now enough about Benedict Cumberbatch, my husband is very patient with my random celebrity crushes but I'm sure he even has his limits. Who knew a tank top could bring two such random trains of thoughts together into a (hopefully) coherent post.
*Update: Just showed the hubs this tank top. He gave me an angry/annoyed face and promptly told me it was dumb. I might have reached the limits of his patience. What do you think?
